This section contains biographies of the children of James Hay and Ann Barclay, most of whom along with their parents arrived in Tasmania as servants of the Van Diemen's Land Company. There are pages only for those children who had children of their own. Barbara Hay married John Jacobs, Master Mariner for the VDL Company, while her younger sister Sarah Hay married George Humphrey Gladman, for many years treasurer of the Launceston Council. Ann Hay married twice, each time to an assigned convict. William Hudson arrived per the Blenheim, and David Howard, arrived per the Phoenix, each with a unique and fascinating history. Margaret Hay married Thomas Brown and Robert Massey Hay emigrated to Victoria and married Ann McRae, their descendants emigrated to America.
