This section is about the pioneering families of Circular Head, a region in the North-West of Tasmania. Settlement in the area was driven by the establishment of the Van Diemen's Land Company in 1824 (granted Royal Charter in 1825), and many of the initial families in the area were employed by the VDL Co. If you have a related family story that you would like to add here contact the website moderators.
Most biographies are in the Biographies of Pioneers section, but as the pages are nested in sections, individual family stories can be hard to find. If you're looking for a particular family, you can use the Search function on this site, or visit the Circular Head Pioneers Index page.
