Agnes, possibly a twin to Isabella, was believed to have been born circa 1780. No official record of her birth or baptism, believed to be at Bathgate, West Lothian, has been found to date.
Agnes married Walter Thorburn on 28th of July 1804 at Kirkliston. 1 At the time, Agnes was living in the parish of Abercorn, probably at Philpstoun village, and Walter, a candlemaker, 2 also living in Kirkliston parish.
Walter and Agnes would have one known child – a daughter Isabella born circa 1806, although no record of her birth or baptism has been located. 3
It is believed that husband and father Walter died sometime between 1806 and 1841, as he is not shown in the census of the latter year. No record of his death or burial has been located to this date.
Agnes, aged 75 and a widow, died at Broxburn on 3 October 1855. 4
Daughter Isabella (single) died at the given age of 76 years, at Queenberry House, Cannongate, Edinburgh on 16 January 1878. 5
