This section starts with the story of Elizabeth Stokes and Joseph Genders, and then follows the history of Elizabeth's descendants through her sole daughter Ann Stokes. Like her mother, Ann had a least one child without a nominated father, Elizabeth (named in honor of her grandmother), and then she married William Smedley and had further children. Ann and William, and most of her children, would later move to Circular Head. Ann's youngest daughter Elizabeth Stokes married John Dobson, another daughter Margaret Smedley married Samuel Horton, and another daughter Ann Smedley married William Emmerton. Ann's sons are claimed to carry both the Stokes and Smedley surnames, all of which are well known in the North-West of Tasmania.
