Tunnack is a town in the midlands of Tasmania. The location was originally known as "The Bluff". This small settlement is approximately 14 kilometres north of Colebrook and 22 kilometres south of Oatlands, and was settled from virgin land by mainly Irish free settlers fleeing from famine in their homeland, and Scottish settlers. Both were enticed by the opportunity to own their own land to farm. Source: Tasmanian Heritage Council
