There were numerous hotels with this name in Tasmania, one at O'Brien's Bridge licensed by Joseph Lewis and Thomas Abray in the 1840s (Source: The Courier, Friday, 16 February 1844), and one in Liverpool street, Hobart in the 1830s, licensed by James Maloney and then Thomas Kerr (Source: The Hobart Town Courier, Friday, 22 June 1832). A hotel with this name existed as early as 1818 when it was licensed by James Lord and J. Clark but the location of that establishment has not been determined (Source: The Hobart Town Gazette and Southern Reporter, Saturday, 3 October 1818).
